Yes, it does seem to be the same thing, and not of a special variety! Interesting how plants seem more special when they are rare (not many places in Europe with the right climate for mimosa).The fact that it doesn't survive long and drops quickly when picked, so there isn't a huge industry in sending it all over Europe contributes to this, I think.
