  Crumbling at the edges

Been feeling seriously (though it wasn't serious) and demoralisingly ill. Much better now, but seriously and demoralisingly Behind with Everything. However, back to the walking today, enthusiasm undiminished, and here is a report on last week's:

Walking a thousand miles in 2006 - Week 5
Miles walked: 19 (target 20)
Total miles walked: 112.5 (target 100)
Miles remaining: 887.5

And here's a link to an inspiring walker and poet.

Glad you're feeling better, Jean, and thanks for the link to Ohenrosan -- yes, inspiring.

Hello, Jean,

Thanks so much for the link!
I'm glad you're feeling better.
Here's something I think you might like:
I once lamented to a friend that I had missed a few karate classes in a row. I forget the reason for my absence (I think it may have been because of injury), but I was really upset about it.
He said that to a person involved in something for the long haul, a brief hiatus, for whatever the reason, shouldn't really matter. If one's determination was lacking from the very start, then yes, one should worry about any breaks from the routine.
You seem very determined, so there's nothing to worry about!

Thanks Richard.

Michael, I agree with you and your friend. My meditation practice has taught me this and it stands me in good stead with other things, like the walking, not to mention the towering piles of overdue work currently on my desk :-) And you are, as I said, an inspiration.

Oh, that photograph! Wondered where you've been of late... sorry to hear you've been ill and glad to hear you're un-crumbling now (oh, dear!). Now I'll check out the link... *hugs

Jean, so sorry to hear you've been ill! I had been wondering where you were, both here and elsewhere. Please take good care, and feel all better soon!

Jean, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. At the rate you are going, you'll be feeling very strong, soon, I think! Impressive.

Sorry that you've not been well, but glad you are on the mend. You've got the right attitude, and look at your walking score! Spring is coming over there too, isn't it!?

One foot in front of the other...

Hello Jean, nice to hear from you again. Gute Besserung!

SO glad to hear you're on the mend. Isn't it amazing how behind one can get when one gets under the weather?

Hope you're feeling better. I hate being ill both for feeling ill but for not being able to do all the things I want to do. A reminder that the body can't always keep pace with what the mind aspires for us.

Lovely photos. I like the colorful patches.
