  Flat

Flat sky with seagulls:
a glass-half-empty morning.
Drink this hot tea, smile.

How can a sky be flat with trees like that combing it? {{Jean}}

Are you sure you don't live in the Pacific Northwest.

If you threw in a few more evergreen trees, you could be looking out my den window as I type, and it's looked that way for nearly three weeks straight now.

I love these black and white photos, Jean.

I like the tree in the first photo. it has a very sophisticated yet somehow unrestrained manner about it.

how very fortunate you are to have stopped and seen those trees and that sky. i think you are on your way to escaping the city - the chaos of civiliation. no one will ever escape it 100 percent anyway and you were in your place of peace, in the moments that you were with these trees. have such a good day.

I love trees, I love black and white photos, and I love haiku. Thanks for combining three of my faves in this post. And have a wonderful new year, Jean.

I can feel the exuberance your camera surely was in your hands as you took these photographs, they are so perfect. Compositionally, yes, and stark in black and white. But there is a feel to them that is pure you. A creative exuberance. xo

Love the haiku, and the wonderful tree photos. Thanks for the smile. :-)

Like Beth, I love these photos. Especially the first.
